SUMMARY:City of Keizer Special Council Meeting on Police Funding
DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, June 12\, 2017\, at 6:00 pm\, the Keizer City Council will hold a special meeting to discuss additional police funding that would allow the police department to hire five police officers. Public testimony is appreciated and encouraged! If you are unable to attend the meeting in person\, please email any comments you have (pro or con) to policefunding@keizer.org or send them to Mayor Clark\, any city councilor\, or the City Recorder. All emails sent to the police department will be provided to the city council.\n\n \n\nThe current police department budget includes four unfunded police officer positions that were "frozen" during different budget processes over the course of the last nine years. I believe it is very important for citizens to understand four police officer positions have been frozen since the FY 2008/09 budget and the fee that is being considered (12 cents per day per household and business) would provide the funding that is necessary to return to the staffing level the police department had in 2008\, plus one additional officer.\n\n \n\nPlease see the specifics in the info-graphic immediately below and review each of the attached documents for additional details.\n\n \n\nPlease share this information with your family\, friends and neighbors.\n\n \n\nPlease consider taking a moment to complete our survey on Facebook at :\n\nwww.facebook.com/KeizerPoliceDepartment\n\n or the Police Department website at www.keizerpd.com/police/\n\n \n\nWe hope to see you Monday night at 6:00 pm.
