DESCRIPTION:Recognizing local heroes and leaders is on the agenda at this event. Keizer's First Citizen & Awards Banquet is Saturday\, January 31st. This is a very traditional occasion dating over fifty years. A volunteer in our town\, a member of the Chamber\, and an extraordinary effort in the education of Keizer kids are acknowledged. \n\n \n\nRising to the Occasion is the theme of the evening. With that\, we are inviting Chamber members to sponsor a table that will identify someone\, an organization\, a task force\, or an effort rising to the occasion. Those having the courage\, wit\, etc.\, meeting the special demands of a situation will be recognized as well.\n\n \n\nThe stories are many in the greater Keizer area. We have a host of nominations for this night of recognition and are open for more. Paying it forward seems to be the practice here that builds parks\, heals the sick\, creates art\, feeds and cloths the hungry\, encourages youth\, builds spirits\, starts jobs\, and buys the next person?s lunch in the fast food line.\n\n\n\nEntertainment: Grand Jazz & Swing Band\n\nEmcee: Nathan Bauer
