SUMMARY:Rotary Multi-Sport Event
DESCRIPTION:We have a Family Fun Run in Riverfront Park that will take children\, parents\, grandchildren\, grandparents\, pets (on a leash)\, and friends and family Past the Bridge and Around the World on a journey that is about 1 km long. We also offer 5K and 10K runs where participants cross the Peter Courtney Bridge and travel along some of the most scenic trails in Minto-Brown Island Park before returning to Riverfront Park. These events are open to everyone from high-performance runners to the more casual joggers and walkers. Regardless of one's time\, everyone who registers receives a t-shirt and a beautiful Finisher Medal. And\, we offer four multi-sport events: Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons and Olympic and Sprint distance duathlons. The triathlons and duathlons involve three of Salem's premier parks: Wallace Marine Park\, Riverfront Park\, and Minto-Brown Island Park. The triathlon is a swim/bike/run and the duathlon is a run/bike/run\; both multi-sport events are open to individuals and teams. Our triathletes swim in the Willamette River\; the bike course takes riders past downtown Salem and along rural River Road South\; and the runs follow the same scenic courses as the 5K and 10K events.
