Marion County Sheriff's Office presents Free Boat Inspection

Marion County Sheriff's Office will be hosting at the Keizer Chamber of Commerce's parking lot in Keizer Station a FREE Boat Inspection.

This is a great chance to not only get caught up on the latest marine rules happening here in Oregon but a great way to insure you and your family will be safe this upcoming boating season.

 

To pass inspections, boats must have the following:

 

- Mandatory Oregon Boater Education Card if operating a motor boat over 10 HP

 

- Properly-fitting personal flotation devices

 

- One type IV that can be thrown

 

- Navigation lights for night boating

 

- Whistle or air canister

 

- Fire extinguisher

 

- Flame arrestor

 

- Clean ventilation

 

- Identifying numbers or boat registration numbers properly displayed

 

- HIN displayed

 

- Current validation sticker
